We have come to the end of another decade. Over the past 10 years, we have seen Sassy’s future hang on by a thread and witness its resurrection. The world, especially socially, is ever-changing and with that, we must adapt. When I started working on Sassy! back in 2009, I knew that following her Style & Make-up was only part of the journey. As we are increasingly pressured by society and social media, I feel like it is absolutely pertinent that we add Self-Care and Essentialism to our tool kit for Emma’s fans. After all, Emma Watson practices self-care daily in her own personal life. Sassy! has been the resource for Emma Watson’s fans to dress like her, and with a brand new generation becoming inspired by her style, her actions, and her life, it is imperative that we encourage all of her fans to live better for themselves, as she would want them too.
Most people know the story of Emma’s pinky ring. If not all of the story, most know that her ring was stolen during the Beauty and the Beast Promotional tours. While I can guarantee this was devastating for Emma, herself, I can also tell you that the promise behind that ring wasn’t affected. The story goes that Emma’s mother purchased the ring just after Emma was born. At the age of 18 in 2008, Emma was given the ring. Fast forward 9 years later, due to unfortunate circumstances, her ring was taken from her.
The real value of all of this isn’t the ring. It is in the promise. The promise Emma’s mother made to her SELF and her children. That promise, ring or not, still stands today. As Emma has grown to be the woman she is, she inspires people to LIVE the best versions of themselves. To be Equal and Kind to themselves. To see their own self-worth and value.
