Series wouldn’t be the same without Emma Watson. A critical element to her performance is the undeniable chemistry she has with her co-stars, Rupert Grint and Daniel Radcliffe. While watching the series, it feels like the actors are all just as close as Harry, Ron, and Hermione.

But while filming the series, constant rumors were buzzing around about a secret romance between Watson and her leading co-stars. What does Watson have to say about this? Did she ever have a secret fling with either Grint or Radcliffe?

Harry Potter' Cast All Grow Up

Series when she was nine years old. While filming the movies, she became so close to Grint and Radcliffe that she considers them to be like siblings.

According to Watson, she never had any sort of romantic relationship with either member of The Golden Trio. Although she has admitted to shipping Ron and Hermione, the main cast is strictly platonic.

“The whole 10-year period, I never so much as pecked either one of them (Rupert Grint or Daniel Radcliffe) on the cheek, ” she said while appearing on The Jonathan Ross Show. “It was pure friendship.”

And at one point, Watson got so fed up with answering the same question repeatedly about whether she ever crushed on Radcliffe or Grint that she joked she was actually married to Grint.

She said, “Regis, you have honestly asked this question every year since I was 11 years old. Every year… Without fail.” She then joked, “Okay, fine. We’re getting married… (Rupert and I) are getting married, and we’re going to have little ginger kids. We’re going to live in a beautiful house, and we’re very in love.”

But despite not ever having feelings for Grint or Radcliffe, Watson decided to “fraternize with the enemy”, as Ron would put it, by crushing hard on Draco Malfoy- er- Tom Felton.

“Between the ages of 10 and 12, I had a really terrible crush on Tom Felton, ” she confessed on The Jonathan Ross Show. “We love a bad guy, and he was a few years older, and he had a skateboard, and that just did it, really. Tom used to do tricks on it. He was so cool. He totally knew [I had a crush]. She then goes on to call Emma her “perfect Hermione.” We couldn’t agree more. Yet even though Emma was able to portray the character so well, there was a point where she didn’t think it wise to continue her role. Why? As it turns out, it was for the most Hermione-Esque reason. 

Franchise, because she wanted to attend university. Despite the additional earnings she’d receive from the franchise, focusing on her schooling was primary for Emma. Although Ron Weasley would probably say “She needs to sort out her priorities, ” we love how dedicated the actress is to her education. As Sirius Black would say, she really is “the brightest witch” of her age.

She says, “I’d walk down the red carpet and go into the bathroom. I had on so much makeup and these big, fluffy, full-on dresses. I’d put my hands on the sink and look at myself in the mirror and say, ‘who is this?’ I didn’t connect with the person who was looking back at me, and that was a very unsettling feeling.”

Luckily, Emma admits that despite the difficult aspects of fame, she has found the strength to continue her acting career.
