Emma quickly led Dan down the alley way, pausing every few moments to make sure he could keep up, he was doing fine. She led him to the empty apartment that she shared with her roommate, who happened to be out today. Dan cast her a glance, “Are you sure you want to do this?” Emma nodded and Dan gave a shrug. “As long as your sure” He stepped all the way inside the dark apartment, looking around. “Nice place you got here” He murmured, almost to himself. “Tha-” Emma’s voice was cut off as the phone rang.
Emma picked up the phone. “Hello?” She asked, slightly annoyed. It was her roommate asking her to bring some important papers she had left on the counter that she needed for her job interview. “Sure” Emma agreed, though not willingly. She hung up the phone, “Sorry Dan.. I have to drop some things off for Rachel”
Dan, who looked slightly disappointed, did his best to hide it. “Oh sure it’s no problem!” He said hastily. He stood up, heading for the door. “You’re not mad, are you?” She asked softly. Dan shook his head, giving a small smile. “I could never be mad at you” He replied honestly and left. Emma watched Dan leave, a frown on her face. She hurried after him, “Dan wait!” She called. Dan turned around, “Ye-” His question was cut off as Emma wrapped her arms around Dan and embraced him in a loving kiss.

Dan was slightly taken aback, but only for a second. He wrapped his arms around Emma’s waist and kissed her back. When they finally ended the kiss, Emma stepped back. “Do you want to come with me to drop Rachel’s stuff off?” Dan, who had nothing better to do, nodded. “Sure” He replied, following Emma to her car. Dan opened the driver door for Emma and closed it behind her as she sat down inside the car. He went around to the other side of the car and opened the passengers door for himself. Dan ran a hand through his hair. He really didn’t want to go with Emma to drop off papers. But he wanted to spend time with his wonderful girlfriend.
Emma drove for a few minutes, talking to Dan about things that had been new with her and how she was. Dan did the same. Dan looked out the window but noticed that they had passed the building that Rachel worked at. “I thought we had to give Rachel something?” He asked. Emma shrugged, “She can wait”. Dan gave Emma a strange look. “Well then were are we going?” He asked. Emma gave a nice smile. “It’s a surprise!” Dan was somewhat satisfied with the answer. He wondered what it would be.
Emma turned into a parking lot and got out of the car, waiting for Dan. Dan took his time getting out of the passengers seat. When he looked at the building they had stopped at, his mouth gaped and his eyes widened. They were at one of the most fanciest hotels that Dan had ever seen. “How did you get reservations here?” Dan asked, finally managing to speak. Emma’s smile had widened and she gave a small shrug. “I planned them months ahead of time” She admitted. She gave Dan a quick kiss. Dan embraced Emma into a deeper kiss. He looked into her eyes, “I love you” He said, genuinely. Emma’s eyes beamed and she threw her arms around him, hugging him tightly. “I love you too” She whispered happily into his ear. Emma and Dan walked into the hotel together holding hands, both of them smiling happily. The man showed them to their room and they sat down across from each other on the bed ordered some drinks and then started to flip through a room service menu.

Emma peeked over the menu, catching Dan’s attention. “What are you going to order?” She asked . Dan thought for a moment. “Steak” He said, laughing. Emma tilted her head slightly, curious as to why out of all the things he would order steak. Dan just shrugged it off. “What are you gonna order?” He asked. Emma shook her head, “I’m not sure. It all looks so good.”
Dan looked up, a devilish smile crossing his face. “I could make it easy for you. Order me for the appetizer, entree, and dessert” He gave a wink as he finished. Emma giggled, her pretty eyes still peeking over the menu. “I honestly think i would…” She murmured, looking back to the menu.
The waiter came back and asked if the couple was ready to order, they both nodded yes. Dan said he would take some steak and the waiter nodded, looking at Emma. Dan wasnt too keen on the adoring look the waiter gave her . Emma voiced that she would take some steak also. The waiter gave a slight bow and scurried off.

The waiter returned with their order of steak. “Anything else?” He asked. Dan was about to ask if they served dessert , but Emma cut him off. “No thanks” she smiled sweetly. She had her own plan she had made special for him. Dan frowned, then shook his head and the waiter walked off. Dan took a bite of his steak and realized it was delicious as usual.
What have I been missing all these years?“ Dan asked, the question was of course rhetorical. Emma gave a grin, a short giggle escaping her lips. She took a bite of her steak. It is pretty good” She agreed, obviously impressed, not just by the steak that is.
They only took a few bites of the steak, sitting on the side of the bed. Dan put his plate on the dresser. Emma looked confused, “What are you doing?” she asked him, with her brown eyes looking for the answer. “Nothing” He said. Coming back over, taking hers and putting it with his.
