Whether it's shipping their characters together in fan-fiction or hoping the two actors are in a relationship in real life, there's just something about seeing the pair together that makes all Potter fans wish for a romance between them.

Over the years the pair have given snippets of insight into their relationship together. A cosy picture on the sofa in pyjamas together sent fans wild in 2019. And more recently Emma declared Tom her soulmate in the foreword of his memoir. However, they've always said they are just friends despite their close bond. Why are they breaking our hearts like this?
