With little to no surprise, Daniel Radcliffe‘s Harry Potter tops the list as he is the entire story in himself. He is the Chosen One who is destined to end the Dark Lord. So of course, he has to be at the top of the list. He gets a screen time of  539 minutes and 15 seconds onscreen with over one million words exchanged.

Potter’s best friend, Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint) has a good amount of screen time. The duo immediately clicks it off and it is established in the first movie itself that they will be best of friends. However, some fans believe that some of his best moments from the novel were cut out and the character was a little ill-defined.

Franchise. Granger is the vessel that provides normalcy in the movie. She shows a vast range of human emotions but some fans believe that her character was a little overdone. She has appeared in every movie and is a great friend of Harry.

Hagrid is a great character who provides warmth and the element of loyalty to the film. He is easily one of the most liked characters from the franchise and is one of Harry’s best allies. He rightfully earns his 45 minutes and 45 seconds of screentime across all eight movies.

Harry has three main enemies – Malfoy, Voldemort, and Snape. However, it is later revealed that Snape was protecting him all the time. It was a heartbreaking twist when the audience learned that Snape was in love with Lilly (Harry’s mom) till the very end. It’s the last three movies that give him some serious screen time.

Now comes the main antagonist of the entire franchise, Tom Riddle, aka Lord Voldemort. The you-know-who didn’t have much screen time, but his presence never left any movie. Harry Potter fans have reacted in shock after learning how much total screen time some of their favourite characters received over the course of the eight film adaptations.

On social media, fans were most surprised by the screen time afforded to Tom Felton, who played Harry Potter’s Slytherin nemesis Draco Malfoy.

According to a resurfaced rundown of the different characters’ total screen time on IMDb, the recurring antagonist tallied just 31 minutes on screen across the entire saga.

In fact, Felton only features on screen in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix for one minute and 15 seconds.

The fact Draco Malfoy was only in 31 minutes throughout the WHOLE of the Harry Potter franchise (19 hrs & 40 mins) jus doesn’t sit right with me tweeted one fan.
