Emma Watson Environmental Activist

Hello everyone! After finishing work yesterday, I spent some time alone at a café. While watching YouTube, I saw a woman give a speech that touched me deeply. Her choice of words, strong speaking skills, and her confidence awakened something in me. I thought, “She should be my role model.”

That woman was Emma Watson, the internationally famous actress. Debuting 18 years ago, Emma Watson appeared before the public in 2001 at the young age of 10 in the first Harry Potter film. Her role as Hermione in the Harry Potter series accelerated her entry into stardom.

Last year, Ms. Watson took Belle to a whole new level in the Disney movie “Beauty and the Beast. She was a spitting image of the cartoon version of the beautiful character that was a part of our childhood. The film was popular not only in North America but also in Korea and other countries. In one interview, Emma Watson revealed that she is willing to perform in more musical films.

What is special is Emma Watson has always had an interest in the environment. In 2015, she participated in the Green Carpet Challenge, a campaign for wearing sustainable fashion items. Fashion designer Stella McCartney, an advocate of ecofriendly fashion, has been designing clothing using recycled material. Emma Watson has been actively participating in environmental movements to remove elements like jewels that harm our environment and has also served to maintain ethical fashion practices for pollution, labor, and fabric resourcing. She is playing a big role in advocating participation in ecofriendly campaigns.

At the 2016 Met Gala, Ms. Watson was spotlighted for wearing stunning dress-pants whose edges slid across the floor. This beautiful dress was not just an ordinary dress. The dress was made completely out of recycled and organic materials. It was a masterpiece made in collaboration with Calvin Klein and Eco Age.

“Each and every part of this beautiful gown has been produced with sustainability in mind… Truly beautiful things should be worn again and again and again.”

Emma Watson Is Bringing Her Environmental Activism To The Board Of Kering

This world in which we live mindlessly, this world that we take for granted, is hurting from an illness even at this moment. As technology has developed at an explosive rate, the earth’s environment has suffered an equally rapid decay. Not too long ago, I read a news article that said that one out of every six people die from a pollution-related illness. Low-income countries suffered the most, with some countries seeing one out of every four people die from these causes. According to a report by Lancet, a research group, Bangladesh and Somalia were hit hardest by deaths caused by pollution-related diseases, while Sweden and Brunei had the lowest number of deaths. The main cause of death was air pollution, which was responsible for two-thirds of the deaths.

And that is how the CyClean Movement was born. The 2018 CyClean World Model Contest is searching for these models who have internal beauty and external grace. We are seeking models who can share their beauty with the world. We are in search for models to proclaim CyClean’s vision of “making a cleaner, more beautiful world.” The purpose of this contest is to remind people of this world to think once more about our environment. The models who are elected as ambassadors will be the voice of CyClean for the world. With the models taking the lead, we can support them by raising awareness and showing our interest in the activities they are a part of. If everyone participates towards making a clean world, the CyClean Movement can accomplish its mission.

Emma Watson is loved by all people. As an actress, singer, musical star, and environmentalist, she makes a lasting impact on everyone. She has shown us that it is our time to do the same, to fight for our cities, countries, and world.

Emma Watson: Star Failing To Be 'normal' In A Fantasy World

How I Eliminated Procrastination From My Life (Using Neuroscience)Keep this part of the brain in optimal condition if you want to stop procrastinating.Actor and activist Emma Watson has adopted Good On You’s brand ratings, created with the help of Fairtrade ANZ, as her benchmark for sustainable and ethical fashion choices.

Good On You has developed a unique system to rate clothing brands for their impact on the environment, labour rights and animal protection, giving each brand an overall score out of five.

Fashion, a $1.5T global industry, is one of the most polluting industries in the world. It employs more than 80 million people, mostly women, many of whom are at risk of exploitation and unsafe working conditions.

Faces Of The Future

Cotton is the most important crop in the industry, yet the estimated 100 million rural households who produce it are living in poverty.

Through its work with Ms Watson, Good On You will empower millions of people to use their shopping choices to create further positive change.

Shoppers use Good On You to check how their favourite brands rate on the issues they care about, and to discover new brands that are doing better.

Good On You look at brands’ impact on workers across the supply chain. These include policies and practices on child labour, forced labour, worker safety, freedom of association (the right to join a union) and payment of a living wage. They also consider a brand’s supplier relationships and auditing practices.

The Fairtrade Standards comprise key pillars that include the protection of workers’ rights, the payment of the Fairtrade Minimum Price to protect against fluctuations in the market and an additional Fairtrade Premium to invest in initiatives to support local communities or business development.

In addition to our research into fair wages and living wages for farmers and workers in developing countries, Fairtrade is the most robust and reliable certification system globally, thanks to the stringent Fairtrade Standards, monitored through regular, independent auditing by FLOCERT.

Farmers and workers are at the heart of everything we do, which is why we’re so excited to work with Good On You, who are enabling consumers to make ethical choices more easily.

Good On You consider each brand’s resource use and disposal, energy use and carbon emissions, impacts on water, as well as chemical use and disposal.

Farmers and workers in Fairtrade certified cooperations, associations and plantations implement environmental protection programmes which contribute to the range of solutions needed to address climate change and ultimately benefit us all.

Emma Watson, The 21st Century Role Model We Need!

Through projects such as reforestation or energy efficient cookstoves, vulnerable communities can reduce emissions and become eligible for carbon credits while also strengthening themselves against the effects of climate change.

The preservation of the environment is a key pillar of the Fairtrade Standards, which also regulate substances used in farming, including pesticides and other chemicals. Waste management is another vital concern in our all-round mission to care for the natural world.

We congratulate Emma Watson and Good On You for their work promoting the need for ethical and transparent supply chains, and look forward to witnessing the long-term impact of this important initiative.
